The Mirror of My Soul   Leave a comment

From within the mirror of my soul, God sees my complete makeup of who I am. He hears
my unspoken words, because he reads my thoughts. Man judge me by my outer appearance, because he can not know me as God, know me. Man condemn me, for the things that God find to be justified of me. Man hates me, for the things God Love about me.
There is no secret or thought, I can keep from him. And there is no secret place I can dwell in to hide from him. Wherever I go, he is there. Therefore, he is forever present with me.
Father in heaven,
When I fall on my knees before you, please show me your grace and mercy. I need to know that sin, will not cause you to withhold the answer to my desires and needs that I request from you. In my life, where I am weak, strengthen me, lead me in the way of righteousness, and guide my path with your wisdom. God help me to do the things that pleases you. Help me to feel compassion, empathy, and sympathy for others.

Amen

Keeping Your Business Safe   Leave a comment

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: to shew forth thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, Psalm 92:1, 2 (K.J.V)

Note: Giving thanks to God and singing praises inspires hope, and produces courage, determination, and strength. It also, gives us comfort and peace. Those who possess find satisfaction. Surveys have been done with positive results for prayer regarding those who pray frequently.

There are times when every individual need to empty their mind to someone without having their personal business being publicized to others who can make things worse by spreading false rumors.

Prayer works for me.

Lord, Make Me Better   5 comments

God is to us what the potter is to clay that is molded into beautiful vessels. He has the wisdom to make us better. There are times when our lives become marred with unrighteous behavior toward God, and toward other people.  Somewhere along the way, we stopped caring about how we treated others, and became selfish, arrogant and lifted up in pride.

We lost our human-feeling of kindness, respect for ourselves and for others. We forgot what it feels like to be lied on, to be cheated out of something that belonged to us, to be treated equal with others, we forgot how to love and how to like. And developed a lack of caring.

Such individuals have ended up in a prison they built for themselves – that is one of sadness, shame and loneliness.  They became angry with themselves, and developed hate toward others. Therefore, the spirits of destruction controls their bodies and souls. They have become a danger to themselves and to society. The demons living within such individuals hold them in a prison of madness, one of which they can never escape without the power of God.

*Demons are evil spirits. They have no conscious. Their purpose is to destroy.

When Unpleasant News Causes a Lack of Hope   Leave a comment

When Unpleasant News Causes a Lack of Hope

Weak job report out today:   84,000 jobs reportedly were added in June.  Many are disappointed.

July 06, 2012

“Very seldom will a person give up on himself. He continues to have hope because he knows he has the potential for change … Yet people are very quick to give up on friends, and especially on their spouses, to declare them hopeless, and to either walk away or do nothing more than resign themselves to a bad situation”.

Hugh Prather (Life Quotes Lib)

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?  And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. Psalm 42:5 (K.J.V)

Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.   Psalm 42:8 (K.J.V)

My Thoughts:

Hope is the strength that everyone needs to persevere in the face of unpleasant news.  It is a waste of time and energy to focus on unpleasant news, when one can best help themselves and others by thinking of ways to deal with an unpleasant situation, in a positive manner.

In regards to the economy, we have to work together and help each other. Blaming someone else for the slow growth of the economy, won’t help it to grow.  There are too many other reasons for the cause of the economy to be weak; some of them are beyond our human ability to understand.

When each of us look within ourselves as having the ability to change things, and is willing to work with others to bring about positive changes, we are a powerful force.  With God on our side, nothing can stop our success.

It’s OK to Be Different from Others   1 comment

I am here!

“My kids are starting to notice I’m a little different from the other dads. “Why don’t you have a straight job like everyone else?” they asked me the other day.

I told them this story:

In the forest, there was a crooked tree and a straight tree. Every day, the straight tree would say to the crooked tree, “Look at me…I’m tall, and I’m straight, and I’m handsome. Look at you…you’re all crooked and bent over. No one wants to look at you.” And they grew up in that forest together. And then one day the loggers came, and they saw the crooked tree and the straight tree, and they said, “Just cut the straight trees and leave the rest.” So the loggers turned all the straight trees into lumber and toothpicks and paper. And the crooked tree is still there, growing stronger and stranger every day.”

― Tom Waits

WHY boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? The goodness of God endureth continually. Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. Thou loveth evil more than good; and lying more than righteousness. Selah. Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. God shall likewise destroy thee forever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

Psalm 52:1-5 (King David)

Story:

The Foolish, Pride, Self-righteous, and Vain People, Status with God

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

The Pharisee stood and prayed this with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

The Effects:

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

God’s Righteous Judgment:

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

St. Luke 18:9-14

My Thoughts:

“And the crooked tree is still there, growing stronger and stranger every day.”

Although the author of this quote was criticized, and poked fun at for being different, as was the publican in the parable that Jesus gave, the two men were achievers.  We find that being different can work for the individual who are comfortable with themselves, and most importantly work hard to achieve greatness. In the case of the publican, who prayed to God for help, many others do the same.

To be and achiever in the face of criticism, one has to stay focused on their goal. Failure comes when  negative thoughts are allowed to enter into the mind.  Avoiding negative influences while working on a goal, is the best approach to take,  in order to become an achiever.

I have been confronted with criticism many times, and told, I couldn’t reach my goals. My message to those who criticized me was, and remains, I will never give up!

Some people view my work as strange. Like the author of the quote, I am growing stronger and stranger every day. I am humble, and prayerful to God daily for his mercy to me.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11

Salvation and Healing   1 comment

Salvation and Healing

I give thanks to God and to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I was saved when I was a young boy. Then, later in my early years, I allowed myself to give in to peer – pressure. I got involved in drugs and some other  ungodly things. When I was 30-years-old, God reclaimed my soul. I became a Minister.

Several years ago, while riding my motorcycle to work, I was hit by one vehicle, and ran over by another. From that accident, I had broken bones in my legs and shoulders. The doctors placed metal objects in my right leg. I was a paraplegic for several months.

After that near-death experience, I have had five heart by-passes, a stroke, and loss of vision. I thank God for my wife and our daughter, who stood by me, and gave spiritual – support, reminding me of God’s Grace and his power, I would have lapsed into a state-of-depression. The Lord gave me mercy and grace. While I was in the hospital, Linda Lee, my first cousin, prayed for my eyesight. After she laid her hands upon my eye that had the patch over it, my vision returned.

God has completely healed me. I can run and walk without a limp. I play basketballs. I have returned to my job as a Postal Worker, my vision is perfect, my speech is very clear, and I am happy to report, the doctors removed all of the metal from my right leg. I am thankful to God,  for his mercy and grace.

God’s Mercy and Grace Saved My Life   Leave a comment

God’s Mercy and Grace Saved My Life

When I was a young adult, I experienced a life threatening illness, resulting in an emergency surgical procedure. Prior to the surgical procedure, I was in severe pain for three days. The purpose of the surgical procedure was to increase circulation to my heart. I received blood transfusions and intravenous fluids for several days. I made a promise to God, but failed to keep it. Yet, his mercy and grace spared my life.

God has said, “Without me, you can do nothing.” I had tried to live my life without him. During a one-night -stand, I got into some trouble. I realize I can’t make it without God’s protection. In my early twenties, I gave my life to Jesus Christ.

The road hasn’t been easy for me. I have overcome many challenges to my health, through the power of God’s mercy and grace. I was diagnosed with a heart condition and wore a heart monitor and was on heart medication, God healed my heart.  He restored the strength in my right arm, and the ability to use it again, after having lost both the strength and use of it.

I have been admitted several times to the hospital for lock jaws. This is a condition that causes severe pain and the person is unable to speak. God’s mercy and grace, have given me the power to defeat everyone of these challenges. Presently, I’m living a celebrated life, enjoying my work and family.
