To make health and fitness our top priority in our everyday life, it has to become a religious part of our life. This will include our physical and spiritual needs. How we think about ourselves, and how we present ourselves to others, are important to us as well as to others, in our daily functions in life. Happiness and contentment in our life plays a major role in our health. Unhappiness creates stress that is harmful. Stress weighs heavy upon the mind of an individual and can cause poor appetite and a lack of desire to engage in activities. If left unattended to, stress can lead to other disorders, that can harm an individual’s body and soul.
Challenges in life will come to everyone. How we handle them, depends upon our physical and mental abilities to communicate with others in stressful situations. A healthy body and a competent mind will create a peaceful atmosphere. An unhealthy body and a mind filled with anger makes a tense atmosphere and it creates hostility in the presence of others.
Finding ways to relax the mind, and engaging in activities that will allow body exercises, and eating foods that are nutritious are positive steps to promote making health and fitness your top priority. I have devoted lots of years in studying health and personal care interventions. My experience as a medical professional has helped me to apply the knowledge I have learned to help others.

The challenges we face to maintain good health habits become more aggressive during the holidays.
More time is spent eating and entertaining ourselves with family and friends, and less time is geared toward continuing the routine exercises and paying close attention to eating lesser calories and our salt intake as well as, eating smaller portions of food, during the holidays.
Eating unhealthy snacks between meals, and replacing water with pop and other beverages that are high in calories, can become a challenge to resist, while vacationing during the holidays. Cooking during the holidays can create a challenge. Over-sampling the food while preparing holiday meals is a weakness. The challenge to resist the temptation to eat a meal rather than a sample is aggressive.
To maintain good health habits during the holidays, we have to face each of our weaknesses and learn how to control our eating habits.
- Continue to do as many exercise routines as possible
- Eat smaller portions of food
- Drink more water
- Avoid salty foods
- Monitor the calorie counts
- Include fruits and vegetables in the holiday meals
Salty foods along with other seasoning used in foods, are tasty and enjoyable to the taste buds; making it easy to become addicted to them, while they present a challenge to our health. To deal with these challenges we have to face them and find the strength within ourselves to resist the temptation to yield to them, and maintain good health habits.
